You want to work with leading-edge respiratory technology, using therapist-driven protocols. You want a formal clinical ladder, and specialized training and support. Join the Baptist Health South Florida Respiratory Team where our goal is to continuously improve the services we offer by standardizing our procedures, upgrading our equipment and recruiting the very best.
We’ve created a quality-driven, collegial atmosphere unlike anywhere else. For starters, you’ll find that we strive to maintain some of the best therapist-to-patient ratios in the industry. We do this by working together and communicating effectively and professionally with respect to all. We’re also dedicated to ensuring that you have the time you need to deliver the safest and highest quality patient-centered care. Most important, you’ll play an active role in the decision-making process—your clinical opinion will be valued here.
Our team shares a proactive mindset about respiratory therapy, especially when it comes to preventing infection through effective care delivery. Our proactive treatments show in our elimination of ventilator-acquired pneumonia (VAP) and our very low omitted therapy rate.
We’ll make sure that you have access to all the specialized training and certification opportunities you need to succeed, including:
- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
- Intubation (Adult & Neonatal)
- Neonatal Oscillation/High-Frequency Jet Ventilation
- Nitric Oxide Therapy
- Non-Invasive Ventilation Support
Respiratory Therapists at Baptist Health treat a wide patient population, ranging from neonates to pediatrics to geriatrics. You’ll have opportunities to care for respiratory patients beyond standard cases and possibly gain exposure to patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), sleep disorders or in Palliative Care. Participating in patient transport teams can also add another dimension to your career experience.
Working with us also means being involved with expanding disease management, cross-training staff within other departments, participating in interdisciplinary rounding and utilizing the latest technology. We’re currently making advancements in computer documentation with real-time charting and an automated medication management system. We also make use of Workstations On Wheels (WOWs) and leverage innovative Respironics’ solutions.
When you become part of our team, you can advance with the help of our specialized clinical ladder (CRT to RRT). Baptist Health respects your work/life balance needs while also accommodating your professional goals. We make it convenient to pursue advanced certification with free on-site CEUs, and we offer the advantage of flexible scheduling.
New grads are particularly encouraged to learn about our tuition reimbursement program and professional growth opportunities. We work closely with ATI Career Training Center, Miami-Dade College, Independence College, Nova Southeastern University (NSU), Barry University, and Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU).
In addition to building close relationships with students interested in the respiratory field, Baptist Health is very involved in the Florida Society for Respiratory Care. We also serve as a resource to our communities and reach out to support health and wellness in many ways:
