Job Description:

Organize and coordinate the activity of the Technical Support Department (Phlebotomy, Lab Processing, Send out testing and Outpatient Lab Services) to provide quality laboratory services to patients and medical staff. The Supervisor of Laboratory Technical Support Services ensures accurate, timely, and efficient laboratory blood collection and distribution via independent judgment, adherence to standard operating procedures, and positive interaction with the healthcare team leads the shift’s lab team with confidence, meeting the employees’ needs to do their work effectively coordinates activities with other shift supervisors, so as to assure seamless transitions between shifts is a leader – and accountable – in the quality assurance and improvement for designated laboratory areas and is responsible for all aspects of employee leadership including hiring, disciplinary action, scheduling, performance evaluation, and competency checks. Performs phlebotomy as required. Interacts with patients from neonate to geriatric.


Degrees: High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper Licenses & Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist Certification.  Additional Qualifications: Associate Degree or Medical Laboratory Technical License preferred. Five years Phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting including experience with pediatric, geriatric and oncology patients required. Three years experience with Laboratory processing and Reference Lab Testing required. Computer knowledge required. Two years supervisor experience preferred. Communicates effectively with individuals listed as interrelationships, using appropriate organizational channels. Minimum Required Experience: 5 Years
