Job Description:

Serve as Physician Practice E&M coding reviewer and documentation educator. Review BHMG physician practice and hospital E&M patient records to ensure that they contain proper documentation that supports an accurate and compliant E&M level in regards to CMS Documentation Guidelines for BHMG physician practices. Utilize review tools to monitor the accuracy of Physician E&M coding, documentations gaps and outpatient/inpatient billing. Analyze and report E&M review findings indicating recommendations and actions taken to improve documentation and coding accuracy. Identifies focus areas of improvement for each provider based on medical record reviews.

Qualifications:

Degrees: High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper Licenses & Certifications: AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based AAPC Certified Professional Coder Additional Qualifications: Upon Hire, CPC-Certified Professional Coder and/or CCS-P-Certified Coding Specialist-Physician required. CPMA-Certified Professional Medical Auditor upon hire or must be completed within 1 year. At least 2 years of professional coding experience with physician practice and 2 years of E&M education experience. Must pass the HR coding exam before hire. Strong knowledge of Evaluation and Management (E&M) Coding and CMS Documentation Guidelines. Previous experience with performing accurate provider E&M medical record reviews, including data abstraction and analyze patient encounters for a focused review sample. Proficient in ICD10CM, CPT and HCPCS coding, policy and procedures based on physician practices. Knowledgeable with Medicare Billing and Coding guidelines and other official coding resources. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and manage provider medical record reviews and projects, as well as work independently with little or no supervision. Ability to provide excellent customer service. Excellent computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office and generating reports. Travel and flexible time schedule is required. Communicates professionally, timely, and effectively with BHMG leadership, providers and clinical staff. Minimum Required Experience: 4
